RIP Evanston Escola de Samba (2003-2021).įounded in 2003, the Evanston Escola de Samba (EEDS) began as a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is t o teach, perform, and promote Brazilian music and dance as a vehicle for arts education and community engagement in Chicagoland.

After a discussion and hang with founding Bloco Maximo Members (Rudy Loo and Jake Crowe) RUDY suggested the name – “SECOND CITY SAMBA.” We have been thinking about it for a while and now it made sense.

The time off from the pandemic allowed us to refocus and from the ashes we rise. We work specifically with Dill Costa and her dance group. We are available for private and public events or whatever your samba needs may require. It is our pagode group and our social clique. 2022) is our samba drumming group and community.
