Venkaiah Naidu, took office on August 11.Īccording to Article 63 of the Indian Constitution, India shall have a vice president. On July 16, 2022, the ruling party’s BJP shortlisted Jagdeep Dhankar as an applicant for vice president. Venkaih Naidu, the current vice president, will be replaced by the winner of the vice presidential election in 2022. The Indian Election Commission declared the election results. On August 6, 2022, there will be vice presidential elections to choose India’s 14th vice president.
